Rogers 4G LTE goes live in Calgary and Halifax

Great news for our Canadian friends, especially those with a Rogers 4G LTE New iPad. Rogers has now flipped the switch on LTE in Calgary, Alberta, and Halifax, Novia Scotia.

Rogers LTE network now reaches close to 12 million people or one third of the Canadian population. By the end of the year, it will reach nearly 60 per cent.

We’ve seen reports on other sites (from those who are Rogers customers) that they can get about 50mbps down. Theoretically LTE can give us a blistering speed of 72mbps. And we get pretty close to that sometimes. The highest I’ve gotten on Verizon here in the states was 55mbps. Now that’s some fast downloading.

If you’re in Calgary or Halifax and have a LTE New iPad or any other LTE device do a speed test and report what your speeds are in the comments below.
