Mercedes has gone ahead and decided to do the unthinkable. Combining their practical and coveted G-Class Wagon with the ultra-luxourius S650 Cabriolet, with the exclusive Maybach treatment. All of this added together, make quite an unusual car.
If you compare this car to a regular G-Class, this one has extra legroom thanks to a longer 22.7 inches wheelbase.
It has the individual massage seats taken from the S-Class offering a fully reclined position. With a press of a button, the rear passengers can enjoy the “majestic open-air experience” thanks to the electric fabric roof, and there’s also a glass partition separating the rear compartment from the driver’s area. This speaks true Maybach.
Those in the back get heated and cooled cup holders, massage seats, two 10-inch screens and foldable tables with leather inserts.
But the car hasn’t only borrowed from the S-class, it’s also gone ahead and portal the axles from the G63 6×6 and the G500 4×42.
The Landaulet G650 has a ground clearance of 17.7 inches and has three differential locks.
The heart of the car is a biturbo V12 engine producing 630-horsepower. The car will be displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, before being put on sale later that month. And well, the costs aren’t out yet but it’s said it’s going to be more than the G63 6×6 which was $485,400. Damn.
