Sirin Labs have recently entered the high-end side of the smartphone market, with their “Rolls-Royce of all smartphones” dubbed the Solarin. A device which has been under-development for two-and-a-half years. Vertu has been a dominant company in the “high-end” luxury market, but it looks like Sirin Labs plans to enter that league now.
The company claims the device is one of “the best smartphones ever.” It has more 4G LTE Bands than any other phone, WiFi speeds that are up to ten times faster than today’s networks, one of the loudest speakers, the best screen and the best daylight smartphone camera.
The basic model starts at £9,500 which is around $16,500 with today’s conversion rate. The Solarin is aimed towards “international business travellers.” The company claims “Price is not on our agenda” as said by the Sirin Labs’ president and co-founder Moshe Hogeg, at the London unveiling of the smartphone. He says “when the price tag determine technology, it means the world’s most cutting-edge — and expensive — technology isn’t available to the mass market, due to the constraints of creating an affordable product.”
There is a security switch on the back of the device, which when switched on, the phone enters a mode which encrypts ALL messages and calls. The speciality of this phone, is the Privacy Package, which the company says “is carefully curated” with Zimperium state-of-the-art mobile threat protection and KoolSpan military-grade chip-to-chip 256bit encryption.
The device has a 23.8-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and a four-tone flash, along with a front-facing flash. The device also boasts at 5.5-inch IPS LED 2K screen. The sound system uses three bass-boosted speakers, linked through an amplifier to maximise volume, and has the capability of going up to 90 decibels.
The company will have four variants on sale, the basic version is the Fire Black Carbon Titanium which is for $13,800 boasting Black Carbon Fiber with space-grade titanium elements, inlaid with Black Diamonds. The other variant is the Fire Black Carbon DLC for $14,900, the other one being the Crystal White Carbon DLC for $15,900 and the top-of-the-line variant being the Fire Black Yellow Gold coming in at $17,400.
The device is now available to buy online from their website, or at their London Store at 34 Bruton Place, Mayfair, from the 1st of June and at Harrods in Knightsbridge from the 30th of June.
