When iOS 11 came out, everyone was worried as their favourite 3D Touch App Switching gesture by pressing the top left side of the screen, and can also use 3D Touch switch to the previous app by pressing the left edge of your screen hard, and then swiping right. But this feature was nowhere to be found on iOS 11. Strange? Well, not anymore.

 

Apple has gone ahead and confirmed the following (and as shown in the screenshot below)  –

Please know that this feature was intentionally removed.

 

Now this does not make it clear whether this feature will ever make its way back in future betas, or in the final release. To be honest, this probably was done due to the new form-factor and screen design on the iPhone 8, and this 3D Touch app switching gesture that we’re all used to, could cause problems on the upcoming flagship which is probably why they removed it from iOS 11 completely.
