Google Fiber was launched in 2012 with the goal of delivering 1 gigabit per second internet speeds to households. AT&T is now trying to do the same. AT&T now wants to expand their high speed internet service, U-verse with Gigapower to 100 US cities. This now puts AT&T and Google into a war of who can provide these dreamy speeds faster!

The list of cities/areas are:

Atlanta; Augusta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago; Cleveland; Fort Worth, Texas; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Greensboro, North Carolina; Houston; Jacksonville, Florida; Kansas City, Kansas; Los Angeles; Miami; Nashville; Oakland, California; Orlando, Florida; San Antonio, Texas; San Diego; St. Louis; San Francisco, and San Jose.

While this is no confirmation, AT&T is trying to show the world that they can expand their gigabit internet to many locations.
