Vertu Signature S, Bentley Edition

The Signature S, is Vertu’s most expensive and most basic phone. And now, they’re ready to increase the price, by announcing a very special edition, dubbed the Bentley Edition. This isn’t the first Bentley Edition phone by Vertu, and definitely not the last. Unlike the other Vertu devices, this one is a basic device. It calls, texts, tries to handle some emails, but that’s really about it. Don’t expect yourself tweeting, checking FaceBook, taking pictures, using Snapchat, checking Instagram, etc. The main feature of this phone, is the design. The Signature S as a standard phone, has won many awards for the design itself, and now it has a carbon-fiber weave, and a calf leather back. You can choose from a variety of different coloured gems, colors and leathers. The keyboard is covered in Sapphire Crystal, and each key is placed on a Ruby bearing. Yes, a REAL Ruby. All Vertu phones are handmade in England, by a single craftsman, and at the bottom of the phone, is shiny Bentley logo. What makes this phone really expensive, is the concierge service that Vertu offers with all it’s phones. This includes 12 months of a 24/7 personal assistant. The company’s support team will make personal recommendations, get you into private events, book your schedule, help you find the perfect gift for your friend, family member, etc. The Signature Bentley Edition starts at £14,500 which is about $23,000 and is available for pre-order now, however it won’t launch till the 18th of September. What do you think? Will you be getting one, let us know...

Vert adds Stingray Leather and Quilt Stitching to the Aster

Vertu keeps retouching their Aster smartphone. The latest versions are the Quilt Stitching and Stingray Leather. The hardware, remains unchanged, although the price definitely changes. Let’s start with the affordable model, the Vertu Aster Quilt, which is available in Black and Blue. It’s hand-wrapped in Fine Grain, and comes form Europe’s oldest tanneries. It has chevron quilt stitching, which “gives the leather a software, more feminine shape and form” The sides are polished, and brushed titanium, and the model will set you back €5,900. The Stingray, on the other hand comes in three limited-edition colors – Black, Blue and Pink, out of which only 280 units will be made of each colour. The stingray leather has “been skilfully sanded and polished to create glittering, jewel-like appearance” Both the variants, have the same hardware. Vertu Signature Touch disassembled…

Well, it looks like someone who had £6,750 / $11,300 to buy a Vertu Signature Touch and then disassemble it to see what’s inside, was quite brave. The Vertu Touch isn’t really all the rich materials it looks like it is. Inside, it’s just one of the other regular phones. The motherboard has a Snapdragon 800 SoC and a 64GB internal memory storage by SanDisk and a 2,275mAh Li-Ion battery. The pictures don’t show the 118-carat sapphire glass which covers the beautiful 1080p screen. Neither can we see the Bang & Olufsen’s audio system in the phone. What do you think? This is the first disassembly of a...

Vertu announces a new Android Constellation

Vertu has finally taken the cover off its newest creation, meet the new Vertu Constellation which features a newer design, with a more “affordable price tag” *sigh* They have removed all the expensive pieces from the phone, the ceramic pillow earpiece, etc. This makes the device have a more neutral look of the device as said by Vertu. “It tested extremely well [in study groups] in China and Russia. In terms of design and appearance, it is being luxury but not too bling, too wild, too pushy, so I’m very happy and very confident.” – Vertu’s CEO Massimiliano Pogliani. But don’t worry, you still have a Sapphire Glass piece on the front, Grade 5 titanium body, with the finest leather, it is also available in a wide range of colors, all the way from Dark Brown to Orange to Black to Light Brown to Cherry. Specifications of the device aren’t all that bad, it has a 4.3-inch 720p display, with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, an Adreno 320 MSM8260A Pro GPU, Android 4.2 out of the box, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 1800mAh battery, NFC and 32GB of internal storage. The price? $6,600, quite cheap for a Vertu if you ask me, honestly. What do you say? Do you like this new device? Let us know...
