The juiciest news always comes close to the unveil of the upcoming iPhone, and that’s exactly what’s happened here. The iOS 11 Golden Master seed made its way on the internet by mistake, and came in the hands of developer Steve Troughton-Smith who began digging through the IPSW.
He found code strings that mention “iPhone 8”, “iPhone 8 Plus” and “iPhone X” The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus seems normal, but what on earth is the iPhone X now? The iPhone X is also referred to as D22, as that’s the code-name used for Apple’s flagship device.
I truly feel for the apple team that busted their asses off for a few minutes in the spotlight, all taken away from them, on the web :s

I do understand Apple changing the “S” branding considering it’s been going on for way too long, perhaps iPhone X could be another way of saying iPhone Edition, which won’t be used considering that string wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the leaked IPSW.
