Apple has gone ahead and announced a very special edition of their flagship devices, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in a new (PRODUCT)RED colour, with the money from the sale of this device being donated to Global Fund to fight AIDS. The device is essentially a normal Matte Black, Gold or Rose Gold device in a Red finish.
The device will be available in stores from the 24th of March. “Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch,” says Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.
The new (PRODUCT)RED device will be available only in 128GB or 256GB with a base price of $749. Therefore, now the lineup of variations is – Jet Black, Matte Black, Silver, Gold, Rose Gold and (PRODUCT)RED.
The device will begin shipping by the end of the month in the United States and 40 more countries such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates. Brazil, Chile, Colombia, India, Turkey and other countries will receive the device in April.
