The Jailbreak community these days has really gone quiet, but oh well – at the POC2017 Event in Seoul, South Korea – iOS Hacker Liang Chen has gone ahead and done the unthinkable.

He has gone ahead and demonstrated the first-ever jailbreak on Apple’s flagship device, the iPhone X. The jailbreak was achieved on iOS 11.1.1 and obviously, this is Apple’s newest most sought-after handset, and has it’s share of security exploits. However, hackers like Chen gained root access and made this jailbreak possible.

At the moment, it is a semi-untethered jailbreak, similar to Pangu and Yalu. Currently Chen’s jailbreak doesn’t carry any official name, and won’t really get released to the public. It’s simply proof of a concept like many other hacker demonstrations. Like in previous months, there is no guarantee that a jailbreak will ever surface again, specially for the iPhone X, but we never know.
