2017 is the 50th year anniversary for AMG, the German tuning company. Founded in Affalterbach, Germany in 1967, it is now owned by Mercedes-Benz. To celebrate this, Mercedes is celebrating with three special models to show off at the Geneva 2017 Motor Show in March.
The first one is a Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50, which is based on the flagship AMG model with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 550-horsepower. The Edition 50 is an appearance package that adds a matte designo Graphite Grey Magno paint with black chrome accents.
The interior has a contrasting black and silver theme. The AMG Interior Night Package comes as standard, and adds black steering wheel spokes, shift paddles, and door sills.
There will only be 500 examples worldwide, with only 50 coming to the United States.
We then have the Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe and Cabriolet with the AMG Performance Studio Package. Like the Edition 50, it essentially has an appearance package that includes grey and black accents all over the vehicle. The radiator grille has black accents instead of chrome, everything is blacked out.
The final car would be a Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition, each of the 150 models produced get certain accented bits of interior and exterior in a unique ocean blue hue. The colour extends to the trim on the bumper, with wheel centre caps and contrasting stitching in the grey interior.
