‘The Interview’ Finally Available on iTunes for Rent or Download

Earlier Sony asked Apple to stream their movie The Interview on iTunes and got declined from Apple seeming as if they were not interested at the time, but now Apple seems to have changed its mind and is now finally offering The Interview for rent and download on the iTunes Store. The movie is now available at this iTunes Store link for $5.99 to rent the movie, or $14.99 to buy it and download it right away. The movie, which highlights U.S. actors James Franco and Seth Rogan, places both of them on a covert mission from the C.I.A. to kill North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un before an interview for the T.V. show that the actors host in the movie. Apple didn’t accept the movie earlier apparently due to the fear of being hacked by North Korea, like something that had happened to Sony for making the movie...

iTunes pricing increases in the UK due to new Government ruling

The UK’s recent Budget has increased – quietly – a new ruling that will surely see iTunes Store prices rise. The rule states that ‘software’ content such as apps, music, books and videos will be charged at the rate of tax based on the country it is sold in. Basically increasing it through that iTunes content will be hit with the standard UK rate of VAT at 20%. Of course it doesn’t just apply to iTunes. Google Play, Amazon, any company who sells ‘software’ content will be subject to the rules which are set to come into effect on January 1 2015. It’s a significant increase on selling through the likes of Luxembourg where tax is just 3%. The UK Government will also receive a large extra piece of income, but for us regular people it just means something else we love will cost more money.
