The topic of LTE coverage is a big topic for not just Apple users, but also Android users especially since a number of Android handsets are now LTE devices. And Apple only has one LTE device and that’s the new iPad. But we are almost certain that the new iPhone will have LTE connectivity. Which we’ll know for sure this Fall.
Verizon by far has the biggest LTE area, also being the first of the major carriers in the US to start using LTE, they’ve had a bit of a hand up on everyone else. AT&T is a little behind big red, but Sprint is the furthest behind. Sprint will be launching their first LTE markets around June/July. While Verizon is already in over 200 different markets through out the US, and rapidly expanding.
According to PhoneArena, Stockton, Fresno, Monterey, and the San Francisco Bay areas are now all set to receive Verizon’s incredibly fast 4G data speeds. And Reno, Nevada — which is often referred to as a miniature Las Vegas, is also now covered with LTE.
So if your in the San Francisco Bay area or Reno, Nevada and you have a LTE enabled device, do a quick speedtest and let us know what speeds you’re getting in the comments below.
