It’s finally happened, Nokia has brought back it’s legendary smartphone which sold millions back when it was announced. The Nokia 3310 is back, known for it’s simple design, indestructible shell, and life-long battery. It’s been released at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with a modern take.
For starters, the device now has a coloured display which is a massive upgrade from the previous 3310. It has a 2.4-inch display with a 120 pixel density. Nokia also says due to the polarised and curved screen window, it makes it much more legible in sunlight. Although in today’s time this specification is below average, however it’ll have the functionality of an “emergency” phone which will never cease to break.
Another leap from the previous version, is the inclusion of a Rear Camera. No there is no front camera, but you go get a 2-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash which can be used for “simple snaps” as HMD says.
And oh, we almost forgot the most important feature – Snake is back! The simple four button game which addicted everyone that tried playing it. The new version keeps the simple 2D gameplay, but has coloured art instead of monochrome details.
And oh, the battery. The battery that used to last for years, remember those golden days? Yeah, they’re back. HMD says “Remember when you could leave the house without a charger?” on their official website for the Nokia 3310. The device can last almost a month on standby and has 22-hours of talktime.
Now, what about the price? It costs €49, which is around Rs 3,450. Prices haven’t been announced for the other markets, but expect it to be the same, not more.
