The general public update will be available this fall! Tim is now back on stage to talk about Mac. (third announcement)

Craig is now on stage to talk about Mac.

Please welcome the new macOS High Sierra. And it’s “baked” as he says. So let’s talk about the first new thing in High Sierra, Safari. The fastest web browser, on Mac and Windows compared to all the other popular web browsers!

The first new feature in Safari – Autoplay Blocking. This will allow you to always control the autoplay videos on videos, allowing you to manually play/pause the video if needed.

The next thing in High Sierra, Mail.

It’s far more efficient now, you have a split-view for the compose view, and uses spotlight for your searches.

The most important new feature is in Photos, in High Sierra. Alongside facial recognition, there is now a far more advanced editing software in Photos. Any edits you make in the Photos application, are directly synced to popular other photo editors such as Photoshop.

Craig – Mac file system has its roots in HFS from 30 years ago. A lot has changed since then. Our storage is a billion times larger. It’s time for a more modern file system. I’m pleased to announce we’re bringing the Apple File System (APFS) to macOS High Sierra as our new default file system on Mac.

Apple File System is going to be the new default for data structures in macOS!

Now, video. There’s a new standard for video, after 4K.

Now, lets return to Graphics. Craig announces Metal 2. This boasts new optimizations and APIs. Up to 10x better draw call throughput. Metal is also coming to VR! Steam VR SDK is coming to Mac!

Live Photos is getting improvements. Memories can now identify photos and video of pets.

In the iOS 11 Demo, we can see some new animations. Although this could just be a bug as it is a Beta 1. We’ll keep you updated with this specific feature. The Messages application has also been redesigned. We can also see that Apple has gone ahead to the regular Signal Bars that were present in previous iOS versions, instead of the round ones we have right now. (just a small tweak that makes a large visual difference)

Maps gets a huge new update: detailed floor plans for shopping malls in Boston, Chicago, Hong Kong, London, and several other major cities, with more to follow. You also get floor plans for airports. Apple Maps is getting lane guidance.

The biggest news for iOS 11 is the App Store. Phill Schiller is now on stage to share the news with us. Developers can now release an app update in phases.

A brand new App Store. The first redesign in 9 years! App Store is getting a new Today tab to discover apps and read stories about the developers who created them.

App Store also gets a dedicated Games tab. And you also get a dedicated tab for Applications that aren’t games. App Store has stories about developers, how-to guides, and themed cards such as App of the Day, Game of the Day, and The Daily List.

Monument Valley 2 is available today!

Craig Federighi is back on stage to discuss machine learning in iOS 11. Apple is releasing a new set of APIs to make it easier for developers to incorporate machine learning into their apps. This is the largest iOS release for iPad. Craig is back to talk about iOS 11. There is a new Dock, similar to that on the Mac – allowing you to fill it up with as many applications as you want.

You have a redesigned app-switcher, redesigned multi-function keyboard, drag-and-drop, and more!

You get a new application, similar to iFile (with those who are familiar to Jailbreaks) showing you all the files on your iPad, called Files. It looks like Finder on Mac.

This is the new App-Switcher for iPad. This is done by pulling up from the bottom of the display.
